FAQ

Where are you located?

Fort Smith, but photo sessions can take place anywhere in the River Valley. If you don't have a location in mind, I am happy to provide options for your session. Shoots outside of FS may be subject to a travel fee.

How much do you charge?

Check out the 'Investment' tab on the homepage. If you don't see the information you need there, contact me for a custom quote. Call or text 479.353.0273 or email me at kimbicephotographer@gmail.com.

How do I pay?

Each session requires a $50 deposit to hold your spot on the books. This can be paid through Venmo (@kimbice ), CashApp ($kimbicephoto) or on Facebook through FB pay. Text me at 479.353.0273 for our address if you prefer to mail a check. Deposits are non-refundable and may be transferred one time.

The remainder of your payment is due one week before your session. Sessions must be paid in full before any edited photos are released to you.

What happens if the weather is bad on the day of my session?

Continuing with the session or rescheduling is up to the discretion of the photographer. You will be contacted prior to your session to discuss options.

What should we wear?

For a classic, timeless look, choose neutrals.
If you prefer color, a good rule of thumb is one main color, one accent color and a neutral. For example: navy, crimson, light gray.

If you are going to purchase a large wall print for your home, it's nice to coordinate outfit colors with your home's interior.

Since most sessions are outside at golden hour, I suggest staying away from a lot of yellow, gold, green, orange, brown, and aqua. Jewel tones normally work well and pop against the natural background. Think dark blue, red, burgundy, plum, purple, and black.

Stay away from pinstripes and small checks as the lens distorts these small patterns. Stay away from bright, neon colors as these colors do not photograph well and reflect the color onto your skin.

Please don't be "matchy-matchy" and dress everyone in black shirts and jeans- let everyone's style and personality shine through their clothing choices.

For the boys- jeans or pants work best.

Add accessories and layers with different textures to make for a more interesting photograph!

Remember, if you have blue eyes, a shirt in a shade of blue makes the eyes pop! The same goes for green eyes- choose a shade of green for one of your outfit choices.

Seniors: feel free to bring props... What are you into? Hunting? Guitar? Sports? Bring your gear/uniforms and we'll incorporate them into your session. Please give me a heads-up before your session so I can plan accordingly.

Can I have all of the unedited photos?

Sorry, I do not sell unedited photos. However, hard copy or digital 4x6 proofs sets are available for purchase.

What if my child doesn't cooperate during photos?

I have been photographing since 2009, am raising 3 kids, have volunteered in the children's ministry at church, and have worked at a child safety center- I get it... kids are kids... and it's ok. Photos are stressful for families and I try to make the session as painless as possible. If a child won't sit and pose, we switch gears and get candid shots. Sometimes it even helps for parents to wait in the car and watch from there, kids generally act better when the parents aren't around.

Where can I order prints from?

All prints are available for purchase through your gallery. I order through Millers Professional Print lab for optimum quality. If you choose to order on your own, I recommend Bedfords in NW AR or Mpix for prints, Canvas HQ (Fort Smith) for canvases, TinyPrints or Minted for cards, and Smallwoods for large framed prints. I would NOT use Walmart, Walgreens, or Sams. I can not guarantee accurate color, contrast, etc if you chose to order through another print lab.
